NOTES FROM THE BOARD...

Letter From SUN President - Kathy Benedict
June, 2007

This is my first letter as your new President and I would like to take this opportunity to say hello and best of wishes to all the users around the world. As you know, I was elected at the record breaking Orlando conference. My past duties as Secretary / Treasurer have been taken over by Joe Manco, who I am sure, will do a great job. I am blessed to have inherited such a great board to work with. Each one of them brings a different skill and talent to the table and they all mesh together flawlessly. I am so lucky to have such high quality people to work with on this new endeavor as leader of such a strong, well established, group.

I would like take a moment to thank John Crish, the past President, for all his hard work and dedication over the past four years. I have witnessed first hand the steady improvement of the board and the group under his direction. John gave his free time even when he didn't have any. He will be a tough act to follow, but I am confident we can do even better. I plan to build on what he has created and take the group to new heights. Having a great board will make this job much easier. As volunteers, working passionately on a cause is what drives us every day. As members, please help where you can and support the efforts of these dedicated people.

The Orlando conference was a huge success. Over 160 people were able to get hands on experience and the feedback was overwhelming positive. The conference was rated 4.5 out of 5. We will strive to get perfection on the next one. We believe it was the best conference yet. The risks we took with renting computers and having a lounge to check email paid off. The new format with people touching SyteLine was a huge success. The location was great, the food was great, and the content was informative without a bunch of sales pitches. All in all, I don't know how it could have been better. These are good problems to have. We are already planning the next one in the Spring of 2008. Please participate in the on-line poll for next year's location.

The user group is strong and doing well. I do think we as a group are more important then ever. With a large company like Infor, the users of particular software must band together and help each other get to where we need to be. It is up to us to get the most out of the software we have purchased. The user group is and will remain focused to that goal for each and every member. Thank you for intrusting me with this responsibility. I look forward to the challenge.
